A Little Background:

There weren’t many options presented to lower class young girls who were aware of their economic standing when I was growing up, so even though I wanted to be a paleontologist or an astrophysicist or a backup singer traveling the world, I always thought I would become a teacher. 

I always enjoyed helping peers figure out something that I had mastered. I became the tutor in college, the designated trainer at work, the Teacher’s Assistant in university…

How That Shapes Me Now:

Over the years, I’ve learned that the journey is just as important as the content. Knowledge builds and with the right amount of confidence and humility, it can snowball into something great. The passion is still there and I still love watching my peers get excited because they feel successful and confident in skills I can help them build. It sparks the same joy as mastering a new skill myself. Maybe even more.

Over the last couple of years, I formalized those skills as the Education Manager for the University of Provar. I was able to dive into the craft of Learning and Development, track what works, and act on feedback from users directly with small, intentional iterations.
